I'm a final-year Bachelor of Statistics (Statistical Computing) student at Makerere University's School of Statistics and Planning, based in Kampala, Uganda.
My work sits between two fields: the statistics that tells you what's true in a dataset, and the software that puts that data in front of the people who need it. In practice that's meant building election systems, clinic inventory tools, and research repositories — usually in Django and PostgreSQL — alongside the R, Stata, and SPSS work that statistics coursework and fieldwork actually demand.
Outside of coursework, I volunteer as an Administrative & Data Support Volunteer at Reproductive Health Uganda's Katego Clinic, where I split time between records administration and data validation and reporting. I've also taken a beginner backend development course in JavaScript at BeTechified and I'm currently working through their frontend development course, and I'm a member of the Uganda Statistical Society and MUSSA, Makerere's statistics students' association.
